Hollyoaks Stars Give Birth To Their First Child

by Your Baby Club News

Hollyoaks’ actress Nadine Mulkerrin has given birth to her first child, Reggie Speed. The actress and her partner, Rory Douglas-Speed, announced the birth via social media, telling fans “Welcome to the family wee Reggie Speed”.

The couple revealed the pregnancy during their appearance at the British Soap Awards earlier this year, with the event being the actress’ first public appearance with a baby bump. Before getting engaged in December 2018, the pair had been dating for just over a year having met on the set of ‘Hollyoaks’. After the birth of their son, Rory said on social media that he was “So proud of Nadine. Didn’t think I could love her any more but my heart is bloody bursting! She was amazing throughout her labour. Women are seriously superhuman.”

During her birth announcement, Nadine took the opportunity to thank the NHS staff which helped her throughout the pregnancy, posting “Thank you to every incredible NHS worker we’ve come across at the women’s [hospital]. ( Helen, Jordine, Amy, Amy) You’re all walking angels. Thank you so much for making one of the biggest moments of our lives so extra special with care.”

Having gotten engaged in December last year, the next step for the couple is the wedding itself, however, in an interview with Inside Soap, Rory explained that the wedding was not the main priority for the couple at the moment, saying “I actually keep forgetting about [The engagement] until people stop me to say congratulations. We don’t have any plans yet - were just enjoying the romance of it all.” Despite this, having had their characters get hitched in the world of Hollyoaks, Rory did say that he has the wedding “all planned out in his head”, meaning the big day for the couple could be soon approaching.
