If you’re tracking your cycle on an app, or have a look at any forums during this time, a lot of OPK, BBT, DPO and hCG letters may come up, and not give you the slightest idea as to what on earth they mean. So here are all the main ones you’ll come across, so you can walk the walk, and talk the talk!

AF - Aunt flow (period)

BBT - Basal body temperature

BC - Birth control

BT - Blood test

CD - Cycle day

CF - Cervical fluid

CM - Cervical mucus

CP - Cervical position

CY - Cycle

DI - Donor insemination

DPO - Days past ovulation

EWCM - Egg white cervical mucus (consistency)

hCG - Human chorionic gonadotropin (pregnancy hormone)

HPT - Home pregnancy test

IF - Infertility

IUI - Intrauterine insemination

LH - Luteinising hormone

LMP - Last menstrual period

LP - Luteal phase

OPK - Ovulation prediction kit

POAS - Pee on a stick (pregnancy test)

PG - Pregnancy

SA - Sperm analysis

TTC - Trying to conceive
